BoardRoom magazine named Hunters Run Country Club member Michael Soroka as one of the magazine’s top 22 Private Club Presidents for 2021. Soroka, who served as Hunters Run’s Club President from March 2020 to March 2022, was cited for exemplifying excellence in focusing on the Club’s leadership responsibilities, accountability and the management of the board in providing healthy respect for the club's micromanagement.
Commenting on his award, Soroka said, “I am extremely honored and humbled to first have been nominated, and then to have been named as one of 22 private club presidents for 2021. This distinction underscores the importance of a strong working relationship forged with management and the board.”
Soroka was on the Board of Hunters Run for four years, two of which were as President. Part of his accomplishments includes working in concert with the Club’s 23 residential associations within this mandatory membership community. Another key accomplishment under his administration was the modernization of governance at the Club. In cooperation with 16 other Board members, the Board revamped and adopted policies allowing for more focus on future capital goals. “Recognizing the challenges that faced our Club, our Board and management banded together to create a roadmap that would lead us into the next phase of our development,” conveys Soroka. “We are dedicated to remaining progressive and responsive.”
